New Front

The trees are gone so Jim got busy with the new walkway. His Father worked for Utah Power and Light (now Rocky Mt. Power). They had dis-assembled an old chimney and Bob hauled the used brick home and stacked it where it remained for the next 40 years. Jim used this brick to make a new walkway/entrance to the front door. Jim did all of the work with help from Jason and Jeremy on the walls. He applied fake stone to the front of the house and the columns and stucco to the wall. The "stone" is actually cement. Cool!

The house is ours!

Wow! What an ordeal we have just been through. My father-in-law passed away in June, 2005. We have (JK and myself, Annie)been trying to buy out his sister ever since. We finally signed the papers and the house funds tomorrow. I could write a novel about the ridiculous things we have been through in order to get this dump. Yes, it is a dump, but it is now our dump. I intend to go through what we intend to do to this house to make it into our home. We have 3 years and about $45,000 to do it.
JK wants to (and I agree) do a "green" home. We want to do a tankless water heater, heated floors, etc. I am in the process of photographing the entire yard and house for before and after comparrisons. Wish us luck!
